When to use heat

Heat is indicated for:

  • Chronic muscle tension
  • Joint stiffness (osteoarthritis)
  • Menstrual pain

When to use cold

Cold is recommended for:

  • Acute inflammation
  • Recent sprains
  • Swelling
  • Just after trauma
  • Migraines
